Geraldine Gibson is a qualified Barrister with a 20-year career spanning regulatory technology and financial services software. She founded AQMetrics in 2012 with a conviction that compliance teams deserved technology built to the same standard of rigour as the regulations they answer to.
Before AQMetrics, Geraldine held senior roles at the intersection of risk, compliance and engineering. She served as Head of Professional Services at BAE Systems and sat on the management team of Norkom, the risk and compliance software company acquired by BAE in 2011. Earlier in her career she worked as a software developer at the US high-frequency trading firm Susquehanna and at Oracle, giving her a rare combination of legal training, regulatory domain expertise and hands-on technical depth.
That blend has shaped AQMetrics into a platform trusted by financial institutions, asset managers and asset service providers to meet their obligations across MiFID II, EMIR, AIFMD, DORA, SEC/CFTC and global regimes. Under Geraldine’s leadership, AQMetrics has earned the HFM European Technology Award for Best RegTech Solution and Best RegTech at the Deloitte Financial Services Innovation Awards. In 2018 she was named FinTech Champion of the Year at the Women in Finance Awards.
Geraldine holds a degree in History from Trinity College Dublin and the Sorbonne University, Paris, a Computer Science degree from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth, and an MBA from University College Dublin. She is a vocal champion of equality, diversity, and inclusion, grounded in the belief that the most diverse teams build the best products.
