Why We Need You

AQMetrics is looking for an experienced Dev Ops Engineer to join our Engineering team.

In addition to providing excellence in Dev Ops Engineering, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable AWS infrastructure. You will collaborate with teams to enhance automation and streamline deployment processes using industry-standard tools and methodologies. You will develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools to ensure smooth and efficient code deployments. You implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions, ensuring consistency and scalability.

This is an opportunity for a Dev Ops expert to join a high-growth firm, changing the way financial services firms stay compliant with global regulations. The ideal candidate should have experience in AWS and come from a Software Dev background

What You Will Do

  • Have proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, specializing in AWS services with a focus on scalability, security, and performance.
  • Have expertise in implementing and managing infrastructure-as-code.
  • Have familiarity with containerization technologies like Amazon ECS or EKS.
  • Have proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins) and practices.
  • Have strong scripting skills for automating workflows.
  • Have knowledge of DevOps practices and cloud security best practices.
  • Have a strong understanding of Software Development, Linux & Networking Technologies.
  • Experience with revision control source code repositories (Git, SVN, Mercurial, Perforce)
  • Experience in management of continuous integration servers like Jenkins, Bamboo and TeamCity
  • Experience with seamless/automated build scripts used for release management across all environments
  • Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA and REST)
  • Familiarity with any monitoring tools like Sensu, Graphana/Graphite, Incinga, SiteScope, etc.
  • Working knowledge of software issue resolution and root cause analysis, administration, and knowledge of deploying applications
  • Taking part in deep-dive troubleshooting exercises and driving technical post-mortem discussions to identify the root cause of complex issues.

What You Will Have

  • 3 yrs systems administration experience on AWS
  • Release deployment co-ordination of docker containers to Amazon Linux using git and bitbucket and Atlassian tools for ticketing, documentation and support
  • Strong knowledge of DNS and network protocols.
  • PostgreSQL RDS databases in production environments, DDL migrations, backups, transfers, restores.
  • Platform security analysis and risk mitigation.
  • Day to day management of a growing set of AWS platform as a service (PAAS) staging and production environments, including the build-out of new microservices, release co-ordination and continual process improvements.
  • Operational and active security monitoring of PAAS systems including network and DNS administration.
  • PostgreSQL deployments, DDL migrations and maintenance.
  • Data transfer tooling.
  • AWS Cost optimization.
  • Atlassian administration.
  • Assist development teams with proof of concept research.
  • Have a strong understanding of Software Development, Linux & Networking Technologies.
  • 3+ years experience with Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible in production environments with many nodes
  • Experience with automated testing tools (i.e. Selenium, JMeter,Jenkins)
  • Experience with Orchestration tools such as Scalr, Cliqr, etc
  • Familiarity with CloudFormation,Docker and JSON
  • Experience working in and with Global Teams
